Biography:
Richard (Dick) Siefert brings to Global Capital Markets the unique perspective of an entrepreneur who acquired, operated and subsequently sold an industrial fabric manufacturing operation located in the Los Angeles area. After leaving his company in 1998, Dick joined an acquisition and merger firm in Pasadena, working in many cases with other entrepreneurs in the sale or purchase of a company.
Prior to acquiring his own manufacturing entity, Dick had extensive experience in the areas of corporate development, marketing and sales. He started his career off with PPG Industries as a research chemist, after receiving his degree in chemistry from Purdue University. The laboratory failed to have a long term attraction, so he transferred to sales, eventually becoming the district sales manager in Chicago before being promoted to product sales manager in the general office in Pittsburgh. The next step was a transfer to the corporate development department after receiving his MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in the night school program.
After Pittsburgh, Dick moved to the Los Angeles area as vice president of corporate development for a builder’s hardware manufacturer. After a consulting stint with Technocon Associates, Dick joined a private investor handling corporate development activities. In 1984, came the acquisition of the sailcloth manufacturing operation which had been originally offered to the private investor. The private investor recommended the opportunity to Dick who had expressed an interest in becoming an entrepreneur.
For his leisure time, Dick is an avid fly fisherman with other interests in cycling, golf and sailing from his days of working with the sail makers, also oenology is an avocation. |
