Erica provides transaction and financial services for emerging growth companies in the food system from our San Francisco office.  She has deep technical expertise in agriculture, food, technology, & law. Erica leads the Global Capital Agriculture and Agricultural Technology practice and contributes to Global Capital’s Food, Beverage, and Consumer Products practices. She also lectures at the Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business.

 

Prior to joining Global Capital Markets, Erica advised companies as a business attorney both in the startup market and public sector. She prepared clients for financings, due diligence and corporate cleanup, intellectual property licensing agreements, regulatory compliance, and freedom to operate reports. Erica received her B.S. in Agriculture, cum laude, from The Ohio State University and her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.

 

Before law school, Erica grew wholesale Ericaceous flowers in Northern Ohio and assisted with the preservation of ornamental plant germplasm for the USDA-ARS. During law school, she served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Santa Clara High Technology Law Journal, Volume 31, and was awarded the ABA-BNA Excellence in Intellectual Property Award.

 

Erica sits on the Advisory Board for the SCU Center for Food Innovation and Entrepreneurship and is a Mentor for the University of California Davis Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and several innovation programs in Silicon Valley. Erica frequently speaks on AgTech and FoodTech investment matters for private and corporate venture funds, international cooperatives, incubators and accelerators, university collaborations, trade organizations, and industry events. She maintains FINRA Series 63 and 79 securities registrations and is admitted to practice law in California.
